Ubuntu Toronto Video Project
For the budding filmakers, actors, scriptwriters, camera geeks...Still in its infancy. For more information, see the project's wiki page or contact the project leader, Andrew Hunter.

New to Ubuntu Handbook
This project's aim is to create a handbook to be included with new Ubuntu CDs as part of an installation kit. The language should be understandable to anyone who has some previous computer user experience but not necessarily Linux experience. Once this project is completed it will be made freely available to anyone who wants to use the document to print up their own booklets with new CDs. This project also currently includes volunteers from across Canada, not just Toronto. For more details, contact the project leader, Kim King.

First Nations Translations
This is a Canada-wide project and is currently being actively worked on by a few members of Ubuntu Toronto. It's aim is to translate Ubuntu into various First Nations languages, such as Ojibwe.

Retail Demo Days
In Toronto, we are lucky to have one of the best computer hardware retailing strips; College and Spadina. There must be more than twenty of them, and they do a brisk and competitive business. The idea behind Retail Demo Days is to have a friendly Ubuntu geek with a laptop visit a local computer store for a day, and demonstrate the shiniest desktops and applications to hundreds of customers (and the nerds at the shop) and hand out free CDs.
Place a Tux-shaped sign (or giant inflatable penguin, if you have one) outside to let the shoppers know that the linux guy (or gal) is there showing off crazy new stuff again. Repeat at another computer retailer, next week.
